Which stud option is best for you?
Firm Ground: The most versatile option for dry or slightly damp natural grass. They typically feature molded studs in various shapes to balance grip, stability, and comfort.
Artificial Grass: Essential for modern turf to prevent injury. These studs are typically shorter, hollowed out, or more numerous to manage the intense traction synthetic surfaces provide.
Turf/All Surface: Best for older, low-pile artificial turf and hard surfaces. Instead of large studs, they have small rubber nubs that provide traction without digging into the surface. These are also great for training sessions and recreational play on harder grounds.
Stud Shapes
Conical: Offer easier rotational movement and balance
Bladed: Provide superior traction and are better for explosive acceleration and sharp, straight-line cuts.
Hybrid: Combine rounded and flatter surfaces to offer a balance between maneuverability and grip, though they may not be ideal for all artificial surfaces.
Stud suggestions by position
Forwards/Wingers: Often prefer bladed for explosive speed and sharp turns/cuts
Defenders/Goalkeepers: Generally, need a stable stud pattern for quick lateral movements and strong tackling
Midfielders: Often favor conical studs to facilitate constant twisting and turning
